Visiting my own Life

The thing that I've noticed the most about working is that I feel like time is just racing past me, making me feel like I'm just a spectator to my life at home. I miss alot of things and my kids are growing and changing before I even blink. I know it's a lazy way to blog but here is Spring at a glance at what I actually was there for:

I call Phoebe Tutti(if anyone remember the tv show Facts of life, the character Tutti only wore rollerskates around the house). Phoebe will just wander around the house with skates on.

Phoebe at her St. Patricks Day program for preschool

Trent and the kids took off for Spring Break without me on a trip to Texas to visit their Grandma Hart and their Hart cousins. They had a great time and all I can say was that the house was really quiet.

Miles trying on a mohawk for awhile, feeling like he was cool!

Phoebe's end of year preschool program and graduation-where she played the part of

Little Miss Muffett

Following after his dad- Oliver chose to do his career day project on Landscape Architects

Easter

Hiking with the family is a favorite activity-the kids never wear out.

(this is in Castlewood Canyon)

He made it through 3rd grade!! Last day of school for Miles and his teacher Mrs. Call.

Another one through elementary school. Oliver finished up with 5th grade and is excited to move on to middle school. This is his Continuation Day(graduation) . Oliver and his teacher Mrs. Willett.

The kids here to support Oliver on Continuation Day

Isabel all cleaned up and ready for her adventure on the Pioneer Trek with the stake- she didn't know how she felt about going-but said it was the BEST thing ever!!! when she got home. This was Isabel's kick off to summer she went at the beginning of June right after school let out, while the boys were still in school.

So there went our spring and now onto summer where I can't believe it's almost over as well :(

Playing Catch Up

So here I am again trying to play catch up....again. I don't know what to say except I don't really have much going on that I find blog worthy or worth staying up late over. So here is my very best attempt to catch up on a few things.

1.OLIVER was in his 4th grade grade play last week called DINOMOTION. He played a dinosaur and he was a very good dinosaur indeed! Also, I have no pictures of him playing lacrosse because I forget to bring the camera every time and when I did it rained(I'll have to blog some later). But anyway he is turning out to be a great lacrosse player(since I'm an expert, you know) His position is MIDDY, which in lacrosse for dummies terms he plays offense and defense and runs up and down the field the most. At his last game he made two goals! Can you tell I'm proud?

2. OH my Miles-this picture I put on just because he has the very best smile I know. He is busy with Karate trying to get some "MOVES" He takes his test on Thursday to see if he can get some stripes on his belt. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

3.This is the most recent picture of Isabel that I had. Isabel is keeping busy. She just finished up her volunteer work at the library and as Student Body President she is planning the 8th grade formal dance(it's not really a formal, but it is at night, and you do have to wear a dress). She's trying to make up her mind between "A Night in Paris" or "Black and White Formal" I showed her my pictures from my 9th grade formal and it made me feel old because she couldn't get over hair and dress styles.(all I can say is-can I really justify anything in 1988?) She just got her letter of acceptance from her High School for the Honors Diploma Program and is very excited for that. The school year is wrapping up quickly for her.

4.BRAVE, BRAVE, BRAVE- Phoebe decided on Saturday that she wanted her ears pierced.)My rule is that they can have it done when THEY ask for it. They were at Claire's buying a birthday present for someone else. I asked her if she was sure and she said yes. Anyway, she asked if she could sit in my lap. After that she didn't move a muscle, flinch, act nervous, cry, make a sound. SO BRAVE! (the back story there is that Isabel at 9 years old wanted them done but cried, and cried through it all). Phoebe loves her earrings and thinks she looks like a princess, since her ears have pink sparkly jewels in them.

So there you have the low down on the kids but before I leave you, I need to share a few things.

I need someone to watch the movie DOUBT. I need to talk about it with someone. It's one movie in a very long time that actually made me think long and hard about it. I need some opinions on whether you think "HE" did it or not-So either share your thoughts or get out there and watch the DVD so we can discuss.

And last but not least-I'm so excited. One of my favorite singers, PAOLO NUTINI has a new album coming out in JUNE!!!! (Does anyone even call it an album anymore or is that one more thing to feel old about?) His first album NEW SHOES is one of my favorites but I'm ready for something new. So I thought I would share his new video for his first single of the album called CANDY(from watching the video I'm thinking candy has a different meaning) the link is below his picture.

There you have all the excitement that I can offer. I do have to say there is a lot going on in May-so I promise I will have more to offer soon.

They clean up good...

This picture was right before we left for church. Can you tell we are having wacky weather, with Oliver in a sweater, and Miles in a polo? (pay no attention to Oliver's chapped mouth, he can't stop licking it). Somethimes I feel the need to document one moment where they are still clean, put together; no dirt, stains, hair messed up, rumpled. You know what I'm talking about. Not that I don't like those moments too, I just feel sometimes it's nice to remember that they always start out put together.

Monster Mash (Halloween Preview)

Getting into character

Phoebe as Little Red Riding Hood (her idea, and what's with the hand on her hips?)

Miles as a fierce ninja (deadly and silent)
Oliver as a wizard named something I can't pronounce from one of his video games

So tonight was the first of the many Halloween goings on. The boys school has a yearly MONSTER MASH, which is basically a carnival where they can wear their costumes. They have pizza, hot dogs, cookies, play games, play annoyingly loud music, and run around. They came home and filled up on candy from their goody bags until it was all gone. The kids had a great time though and are totally ready and waiting for the real night. 7 days and counting!
